|This marks Ronald
Kurtz's 50th year producing concerts and managing
projects over the years have included recordings,
stage shows and motion pictures. However his true
love is concerts and the stage.
He loves the immediacy
of stage shows. In motion pictures and television
you can stop and keep re-shooting until it's
perfect. When you start a concert whatever happens,
happens. You have to do all your pre-production and
troubleshooting before the actual performance. Once
it starts, it keeps going.
In the early days, Kurtz
worked with some of the legends including Jim
Morrison, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, the Iron
Butterfly, Deep Purple, Eddie Kendrick and David
Ruffin just to name a few.
To date Kurtz has
produced over 2,000 live concerts including the
original JAM at the now defunct Ontario Motor
Speedway. It was at the time one of the largest
festivals on the West Coast. It forced closure of
the San Bernadino Freeway due to traffic. It was so
successful it was followed by the now-famous ABC
Jams at the same raceway.
Currently Kurtz has been
very active in producing Casino and Theater Shows
all over the country. He is also involved in
producing several motion pictures including Otis
Day: Band On The Run, currently in
pre-production for a 2012 release.
Ronald Kurtz claims that
now he has finished half of his career. He hopes for
50 more years which would make him the oldest
producer in the history of the WORLD.
